Acacia Knickers

This workshop will use a Free pattern, The Acacia by Megan Nielson. I'll walk you through getting it, so no panic! There is loads of information given here in order to make it as simple as possible for you. you'll also find links to examples of appropriate elastics. Full support even before you get to the Workshop!

The pattern is available in Mini, Standard and Curve. Check your/your models hip and waist measurements against each chart to find the correct size.

Please subscribe and you will receive an email with a code to get your pattern & instructions for free! The printing for this pattern is minimal, 3 pattern pieces, 5 A4 sheets.

When you receive your files you will need to save the A4 PDF instructions & the A4 PDF pattern. You can get the pattern printed online (suggestions: CLC Printing, Patternsy) or at your local library, or ask a friend! The pattern will have instructions for the printer.

The Acacia Underwear is designed as low rise bikini cut underwear. The pattern features a gusset with fully enclosed seams, comfortable fit and ample coverage. The detailed instructions include three different elastic insertion methods. Perfect for beginners to learn new skills or experienced sewers to whip up quickly.

Supplies

You will need :

• Maximum 1/2m stretch fabric (knit) Lucy has some lovely colours available, see the image, from £7.50-£14p/m. If you wish to purchase online you will need a fabric that stretches both across and along the selvage. This is often described as 4-way stretch.  If the listing includes the stretch percentage you need 20% or more. I'd highly recommend a cotton Lycra/elastane or upcycle an old t-shirt or two!

• Max 3m Fold Over Elastic (FOE), Picot Elastic, or 1/4" elastic to finish the waist and leg openings. Etsy & Amazon are options, but here's an independent online shop, Sewing Chest, that specialises in these supplies:
